Responsibilities:

 

The Burchfield Group has an immediate opening for a Consultant to join its growing Client Services department. The Consultant will work directly with our clients and business partners to deliver a variety of pharmacy benefit services.  Consulting services include:

  • Leading pharmacy benefit vendor (PBM/MCO) procurement (RFP) efforts;
  • PBM contract negotiation and management;
  • Periodic reporting on client's plan performance;
  • Monitoring PBM/MCO delivery of services and contracted financials;
  • Pharmacy analytics, including plan design modeling and misc ad hoc analyses;
  • Benefit strategy development;
  • Implementation support;
  • Delivering audit and/or operational assessments; and,
  • Conducting non-standard consulting projects as identified

The Consultant will also be expected to work in collaboration with the balance of our Consulting team to continue to develop products and expertise and to grow our service offering.

 

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate college degree minimum;
  • At least 5 years experience in the PBM industry.  MCO experience may qualify depending on the nature of your past experience;
  • Significant experience in Account Management preferred;
  • Prior consulting experience a plus;
  • Significant knowledge of the PBM industry and pharmacy industry events and trends;
  • Strong written and oral communications skills necessary;
  • Analytical skills and knowledge of PBM financial structures are important in this position;
  • Negotiation skills;
  • Self-initiative and history of innovation; and,
  • Technical skills, including skilled use of Word, Excel and Power Point.
